Gauge is tested and in good working condition and was removed from a low miles show car that was in a front end collision. Gauge is extremely clean and the lettering and needle/pointer are still nice and vibrant. All mounting holes are intact. This was removed from a 1976 Cadillac Deville, but will fit 1974-1976 ALL Cadillacs and 1974-1978 Cadillac Eldorado. Fitment verified by Cadillac MASter Parts List 3.108.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ:
These gauges rarely go bad, although on occasion they do go bad. It is important to properly diagnose it as a bad gauge before replacing or you will still have the same problem. This sweeps needle measures the resistance of your fuel sending unit, so if you have dirty connections adding resistance at any of the multiple connections along the way, the gauge will become slightly skewed. There are several connections where there can be a bad/dirty/corroded connection. The sending unit plugs in behind the license plate, sending unit itself has to have a good ground, there is another connection behind the driver side rear seat to rear trunk hinge area, another connection in the driver side kick panel area, and then the connection to the gauge itself. If there is an open in the system, it will pin the needle above the full mark and if there is a short in the system it will pin the needle below the empty mark.
