This is for Hydroboost Booster equipped vehicles. This is a rebuilt power steering pump and comes installed in the factory original reservoir/housing, which is in excellent condition, no major dings/dents. Other power steering pump assemblies out there do not have a factory original housing, rather they are a cheap aftermarket housing that looks horrible when trying to restore your car to factory specs. Don't be fooled by stock photos, what you see here is what you get, original and ready to install on your how car or cruise night car. Please look at all pictures as they are part of the description. Fitment is based on Cadillac Master Parts List 4.805 but please do your own research as we do not offer refunds if it does not fit your vehicle.

There is no warranty on pumps unless installed by CJ Auto Parts, due to the fact that most failures are due to improper installation. Loose belt causes hard steering, over tightening the belt can cause premature failure to pump and bearing seal. Low or incorrect fluid can cause premature failure. Failure to flush old contaminated fluid can cause premature failure, etc.
Failure to properly flush the system can lead to binding, poor returnabilty, leaking, hard steering, intermittent assist and noise. MUST use O.E. specified fluid, not generic power steering fluid. Also, must not clean the steering system with common shop chemicals, which can damage power steering seals. If system was heavily contaminated, a power steering filter can simply be added to the return line.
INSTALLER INSTRUCTIONS: Power steering hoses/lines MUST be free flowing, no blockages or restrictions, and should not be any more than 10-15 years old (rubber does wear on the inside as well as the outside). System MUST be rid of any contaminants. If pump becomes aerated on startup, turn vehicle off until the foam subsides, Severely contaminated power steering systems should have an aftermarket filter installed in the return line for extra protection. Power steering pulley MUST be pressed on with proper installation tool, NOT hammered on, which will cause damage to the pump.

Price includes $200 core fee, which is refundable upon return of your good rebuildable core. The core return must include the pump & factory original reservoir/housing, same as what you are receiving. We will not accept core returns that do not include the housing or that have an aftermarket housing. Core must be returned within 30 days from date of receipt, no exceptions, and must be a good rebuildable core (meaning the internal components cannot be frozen, rotted through, heavily rusted, heavily pitted etc.). If you're uncertain, you can always send us a pictures of your core first. Core must be the of the exact style power steering pump for the 1976-1978 Cadillac Eldorado or 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Series and Commercial Chassis, same as the one you are receiving (again, if you are not sure what you have you can email us first). Core refund will not be given if any of the above requirements are not met.
